Quantifying improved fisheries productivity at fish passage rehabilitation sites in Lao PDR
This project aims to put numbers on the nutrituional, economic and social benefits to local communities of improved fish passage options (installed fishway and fish friendly weir structures) in PakPeung and Houy Souy wetlands in Laos. My role is project design, data collation and analysis to address questions like these;.- Do fishways provide the opportunity for fish to complete essential life-history requirements?
- Is fisheries productivity higher in wetlands where fish passage has been rehabilitated?
- Are the costs of fishway
construction justified by the benefit?

There is a decription of the overall project om Panthera's pages https://www.panthera.org/initiative/jaguar-corridor-initiativeMy current role is just to help clean some off the existing data sets and see if we can perform some analyses using these already collected data to answer questions like these;
- Are there ecological factors that predispose the attacks to domestic animals by big wildcats?
- Are the antidepredatory strategies implemented by Panthera successful?
- Are there significant differences in the temporal activity of wildcat species among natural ecosystems and/or agricultural systems?
